Choosing someone to care for your child is one of the most important decisions you make. Our role is to become a trusted extension of your family by providing consistent care and genuine emotional connection while supporting your child's development every day.
During the first stage of the company, all childcare services are personally provided by me, Lotta Sipilä, allowing families to benefit from my experience and personal approach. As North Star Nannies grows, the company will gradually expand with a carefully selected team of professional nannies who share the same values, standards and commitment to exceptional childcare.
Services
Part-time Nannying – Occasional Nannying
I offer childcare from Monday to Friday in the greater Basel area. Working hours and traveling are negotiable.
Pricing
Rates start from CHF 40/hour and vary depending on the details and requirements of each booking.

The minimum booking duration is 3 hours.
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled booking. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance will be charged 50% of the booked service fee.
All prices include applicable social security contributions and insurance costs. Families receive one monthly invoice, with no need to manage payroll, insurance or employment administration.
North Star Nannies is the legal employer of the nanny, and families purchase childcare services directly from North Star Nannies.
Depending on your canton and individual circumstances, childcare expenses may be tax deductible. We recommend consulting your tax advisor or local tax authority for further information.

My approach is built on years of experience and a genuine passion for working with children. My experience with newborns, babies and young children gives me the knowledge and confidence to provide thoughtful and reliable care.
Every child is different, so I adapt routines and activities to their individual personality, needs and stage of development. I encourage children to learn and explore at their own pace while providing a safe and supportive environment.
Clear communication and a calm, reliable presence are important to me. I want parents to feel confident and reassured knowing their children are in good hands.
My approach is also influenced by Finnish childcare philosophy. I believe children learn through play, curiosity and secure relationships, while developing independence through everyday routines, exploration and age-appropriate responsibilities.
